#1 Anonymous by Eddie Adams Speak Truth To Power Human Rights Defenders Who Are Changing Our World February 6, 2009 - March 31, 2009   Speak Truth To Power is the global human rights initiative founded by Kerry Kennedy Cuomo and Nan Richardson which brings people face-to-face with courageous human rights heroes. These powerful portraits of human rights defenders from around the world were taken by Eddie Adams, the renowned Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist. This multifaceted project presents inspiring stories of 35 women and men from countries across the world who have stood up to oppression at great personal risk in the non-violent pursuit of human rights including demilitarization, children of war, environmental activism, sexual slavery, and religious self-determination. The wall texts accompanying the portraits include quotations and text excerpts from the individuals interviewed by Kerry Kennedy. Speak Truth To Power is a project of the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial and curated by and organized by Umbrage Editions.
